People Who Grew Up Rich Reveal What They Thought Was Normal
Growing up rich can seem like a pretty great life to have, unless of course you end up being completely out of touch with reality, like some of the people in our stories today.
They’re so used to having a cushy lifestyle that they thought some of their luxuries were things everyone had access to.
But that’s not how the world works. And it was a huge reality check to these people when they realized that not everyone had maids, drivers and insurance just in case they were kidnapped. These are the things rich people thought were normal.
Eating Out

I grew up in a family where we ate out at nice restaurants ever day. It was so normal that I thought home-cooked meals were the special ones. I found out later that it was the opposite.
But Surely You Have Some

I was in a relationship with this guy and we were talking about how we grew up and what our parents left for us. It was at that moment that I realized that not everyone’s family left silver for them.
Special Insurance
I was always surrounded by kids who traveled with bodyguards. In fact, we were all trained in what to do if we were kidnapped and even had insurance for it. It wasn’t until I dated a middle-class girl that she told me otherwise.
House Servants
I was seriously under the impression that everyone had house help. All my friends did, some of them even had them living in the home full-time. When I went to college, I learned that that wasn’t the case.
