Places People Should Never Visit
Where’s the strangest place you’ve ever visited? Some people like more tame places that are tried and true like Paris, Hawaii, or the Bahamas. But others are thrill-seekers that will do anything to explore the strange bizarre places of the world.
But most of the strangest places on earth aren’t meant to be explored, at least legally. Most of them are off-limits to the general public. This is why most of these places have been kept a closely guarded secret, at least until now.
Snake Island
Snake Island or Ilha da Queimada Grande as the locals call it. It’s just off the coast of Brazil and is aptly named. It has some of the deadliest but also the most dangerous snakes in the world.
This means that the public is aren’t allowed to set foot on the island. This is because they don’t want people further wiping out the endangered population but also so that they don’t harm themselves.
North Sentinel
Close to the Bay of Bengal there is an island called North Sentinel. There is a group of people on the island that have never come into contact with civilization. They are called the Sentinelese and are allegedly violent towards any outsiders.
There have been repeated attempts to study the Sentinelese by missionaries and researchers. But they’ve all been met with the same reaction – hostility.
Doomsday Vault
In Norway there’s a vault that’s around just in case there’s ever a doomsday event in the world.
It’s called the Svalbard Global Seed Vault, or the “Doomsday Vault.”
This storage facility has millions of different seeds. This is in case the world ever needs to be regrown from dirt. The vault is so secure that it’s unaffected by earthquakes and explosions alike. It’s no surprise it’s also a restricted area.
Surtsey Island
An island in Iceland is called Surtsey. It was created in the 1960s due to a volcanic eruption. This means it’s one of the newest islands in the world.
With the island being so special, researchers and scientists are currently investigating the island to study ecosystems without human interference. That means that no one is allowed on the island.
