Puppy Abandoned At The Airport Had A Heartbreaking Note From His Owner
Getting lost at an airport is a common yet universally unpleasant experience. Getting abandoned at an airport is even worse. This, however, is exactly what happened to an adorable puppy at a Las Vegas Airport.
Meet Our Hero
Chewy was a 3-month-old Chihuahua puppy who was abandoned in a Las Vegas airport restroom. While it seems terribly callous and you probably want to condemn the dog’s owner, but you should read on before you judge them too harshly.
Notable
Chewy was left alone with visible injuries in the restroom. The situation seemed bleak but the owner added a note to explain the situation.
As cruel as it all seems, the desperate handwritten note will certainly restore some of your faith in humanity.
Pleading
The note left with the puppy read: “Hi! I’m Chewy! My owner was in an abusive relationship and couldn’t afford me to get on the flight. She didn’t want to leave me with all her heart but she has NO other option,” the note read.
“My ex-boyfriend kicked my dog when we were fighting and he has a big knot on his head. He probably needs a vet.
I love Chewy sooo much — please love and take care of him.”
The Rescuers
Fortunately, someone found her soon and immediately sprang into action. They took Chewy to Connor and Millie’s Dog Rescue. It was there where Lindia Gilliam, the shelter’s founder, first learned about Chewy’s story.
“My heart dropped to my knees,” Gilliam told The Dodo. “I didn’t hesitate to accept him and instructed my foster to immediately get him to an ER.”
