Just in case you are curious to know what it’s like to have a snake as a pet, I’m here to let you know that it’s not all it’s cracked up to be? How do I know? Well, a python killed the man who raised it since it was a baby.
Dan Brandon raised this African Rock Python since it could fit in the palm of its hand, and how did that slithery snake repay him? The python apparently coiled itself around Dan and he died of asphyxiation a few moments later.
The python, named “Tiny” wasn’t his only pet. Brandon kept 10 snakes and 12 tarantulas in his family’s home, according to his mother.
His mother said that Brandon had actually become a bit scared of Tiny. “He was more wary of Tiny than the other snakes. He said she’s very strong. He had stopped putting her round his neck because she was so strong and unpredictable,” she said.
His mother said that on the night of Dan’s death, she heard a loud thud upstairs, and when she went up to check on the situation, she found her son unconscious and face down on the floor. She had also noticed Tiny was not in her vivarium.
African Rock Python attacks on humans are considered extremely rare, but after hearing about this attack, would you risk having one in your home?
