The Church Of Myra

Within the capital city, also named Antalya, lies a region called Demre. Its most famous cultural and historical site is a famous old church. Having been built centuries ago, it still stands within the ruins of an ancient city called Myra.

Its cultural importance as an ancient Roman basilica has always made it a point of interest. Researchers and archaeologists have surveyed it before and deciphered much of its historical significance.

No one ever thought that under its grounds, there were yet more amazing discoveries just laying there.

Modernization 

With the use of ultra-modern technical advancements, archaeologists were able to unlock new secrets of the church’s illustrious history.

Using specialized radar, the team confirmed that there was another site under the church itself that appeared to be a temple or catacomb of some sort.
