Single Dad Fostered More Than 50 Young Men in 12 Years, They All Decide to Surprise Him
Growing in a foster care system can be pretty tough for kids, especially for teens. Some of them are lucky to get homes and the love from kind families who support them through the rough teen years.
But some kids from New York City’s foster care system haven’t been that lucky…
For instance, Ro, Sha, Gregory and Dior had to go from home to home before finding the right place they could actually feel wanted and loved. It was Guy Bryant’s home that made them realize the world didn’t forget about them.
20. “My Kid For Life”
“Once you come into my home and you’ve been with me and you’ve been here, you’re my kid for life,” said Guy Bryant.
This man has been fostering teens in Brooklyn, New York for 12 years, and helped kids that needed guidance and a loving home.
19. He Fostered More than 50 Teens
Guy Bryant is now 61 years old and has fostered over 50 teens in 12 years, reaching out to each one of them, caring for them and offering support and love. How did he start fostering young kids?
18. When You Need Them The Most
We all know families are the most essential thing in kids’ lives, and Guy made sure that the teens from the care system had someone to count on. He works for the Administration for Children’s Services, and began taking in teens since 2007.
Gregory, one of Guy Bryant’s foster sons said Guy basically opened his doors for me when I needed it most.”
17. They’re Now Nearly 21 Years Old
Some of the teens Guy took in are now around 18-21 years old.
Since 2007, Guy has been taking young men into his home and giving them a safe place to live. Most of the teens who walk through his doors are 18-21 years old.
