Cops Investigating “Man-Made” Sinkhole Uncover A Much Larger Scheme
Derek lets out a sigh. This was not what he expected when he started work this morning. Fair enough, his job sometimes lead him to strange and questionable discoveries. But in his 35-year career, Derek hadn’t seen anything like this before.
He knew he had to call the guys that could hopefully answer the hundreds of questions he had running through his mind. He gets out his phone and dials the number for the FBI.
An Ordinary Thursday
It was an ordinary Thursday in Florida. Derek Smith had just started his shift at Pembroke Pines Public Works. As he stared outside the window and admired the glorious sunshine beaming down, suddenly the phone rang.
A person had spotted what seemed like a pothole, but when they took a closer look they knew it was a sinkhole, so they rang the proper authorities. Derek hung up and left the office. Little did he know what this pothole would reveal.
Something They Had Never Seen Before
When Derek and his crew arrived at the scene, they poked around the so-called sinkhole and were baffled by the sight before their eyes. They stood around, shrugging their shoulders and scratching their chins.
They were ultimately left with more questions than answers. Derek shook his head. One thing was for certain though: this was no sinkhole.
Hundreds Of Questions
As he peered over the edge, Derek and his crew saw a power cord trailing down into the strange abyss. Derek took a closer look in the direction of where the cord was headed and it seems to lead to a nearby line of trees.
This still didn’t answer the hundreds of questions the team had. They knew they needed to bring in the experts.
Looking For More Clues
Dialing the right number into his phone from memory, Derek calls the Pembroke Pines Police Department. Around 20 minutes later, they arrive at the scene and check out the initial cause for concern.
After a few minutes, the cops seem baffled too, so they turn their attention to the tree line… where another discovery was about to lead to even more questions.
