Hilarious Social Media Brand Meltdowns That Prove You Should Think Before You Tweet

We’ve all vented on social media before. This is fine for people, but it can be a disaster for verified brands. Here are some social media brand meltdowns that get funnier the more you think about them.

Sunny Delight’s recent “I can’t do this anymore” tweet has earned a lot of criticism, with commenters arguing that the brand is trying to exploit mental illness as a marketing tactic.

Perhaps a corporate Twitter account isn’t the best place to vent.

Sunny D isn’t alone with online oversharing. One particularly honest tweet from the official Stubhub account read “Thank f— it’s Friday! Can’t wait to get out of this stubsucking hell hole.” Understandably, the tweet was soon deleted.

Virgin Trains

In a fit of over the top sarcasm, one Twitter account for Virgin Trains showed that their social media manager had run out of patience with online complaints: “Oh I’m soooo sorry, no reaaaallly I am – I forgot that we poured gallons and gallons of rain onto the tracks!”

Nokia

There are few Twitter meltdowns quite as succinct as that of Nokia New Zealand. Someone managed to get out a simple yet effective “F— you” before any of the company’s higher-ups noticed.

There’s one employee who probably needs a raise, but who probably got fired instead.
