Teacher Suspends Teen Over Prom Dress But Learns To Fear Her Dad
Anger
Despite tears streaming down her face, the principal kept yelling at her. She was now being dragged out of the premises by the security guard, pleading that she obey him.
When they had just singled her out among 500 students, how could she comply? As she dialed her father’s number, her hands trembled.
She would give them exactly what they wanted if they wanted a fight.
Troubling Times
The past few weeks had been difficult for Macy. Despite her best efforts, nothing seemed to be going her way. As a high school senior, she led a normal life like other girls of her age.
A small group of friends held a special place in her heart, and she had a school crush she wished she had the courage to speak to.
She also wanted to be the best in all her classes. Despite this, Macy was not like most of her peers.
She Missed Her Father
Macy wasn’t anxious about what college she’d attend or who she’d attend prom with like all the other sixteen-year-old girls.
Seeing her dad wasn’t common since he was a navy seal. Over the past five years, she had seen him only a couple of times. It was a sparsely spaced-out schedule of weekly visits.
It was her hope and prayer that her dad would be able to see her in her prom dress.
Missing Out
Her relationship with her dad had always been special to her. Macy lost her mother at birth, and since then, she has become her dad’s favorite.
Whenever Macy asked him about her mom, he said she had great plans for her. The only thing she wanted was to gossip with her as mothers and daughters do.
Sadly, she didn’t get to go out with her for ice cream or to get their hair done together.
Excitement
Her paternal grandparents in Tampa, Florida, were more than happy to take care of Macy since her dad was rarely around.
As she grew into a young woman of bright, respectful, and brave qualities, they were delighted to watch her develop. Making people around her proud was always her goal.
Her excitement about prom was contagious. She saw prom night as a night to celebrate who she was. As a tribute to her late mother, she wished to show respect for her culture. No one could have predicted the disastrous outcome.
