Teens Go On TikTok Treasure Hunt Despite Warning

Places of gathering like bowling alleys, movie theaters, and even restaurants were all closed in the summer of 2020.

So with so many places closed it was only natural for some teens in Seattle to get bored. Then they found a weird app on their phones that would lead them on an adventure. But they had no idea where the app would take them.

Natalie, Gabbi, and Henry were three normal teenagers living in Seattle. They created TikToks and posted content on Instagram. The three loved chasing new trends.

The App started to crop up in their feeds so they decided to try it out. But they had no idea what kind of torment it would add to their lives.

The app got a reputation and it wasn’t a good one. People had all shown their experiences online and the videos were creepy to say the least. Many people warned against using the app.

Henry, Natalie, and Gabbi saw that the app’s hashtag had over 200 million views! But their discovery with the app would be a frightening one.

The app is called Randonautica and gives users cryptic instructions on where to go in their surroundings. It’s supposed to invite adventure but often ends with a creepy twist.

One social media content creator showed his experience where the app ended up taking him to headstones that turned out to be of his relatives. Parents would soon find out about the app and be up in arms.

The Three Rules

There are three rules to using the app – don’t go out at night, don’t do it alone, and always try and be positive. The app has warned against the consequences of breaking these rules.

The creator of the app commented on the three Seattle teen’s videos saying that it was “shocking”.
