Tenant Catches Landlord In Her Room

Hard Market

Emily Townsend just needed a place to stay. The housing market was so difficult.

Emily worked two stressful jobs while still paying off her school student loans. She finally found a place she could rent. It was a basement room with the bare essentials but it was a home nontheless.

Great For Starting Out

It was a single room with a kitchenette that had just what the 24-year-old needed.

A middle-aged couple owned the building and smiled at her as they gave her the keys. The simple rules were not to be too noisy or damage anything. She just needed a place to stay so she was happy with that arrangement.

Going To Work

Emily was excited for the morning ahead as she woke up early, made hot tea, and left for work.

She locked the door behind her as she jumped at someone’s touch. It ended up being the husband.

Machine Problems

He said he was sorry for startling her but just wanted to check one of the walls in her room.

They wanted to make sure there was no water damage from their leaky washing machine just a floor above. She was happy that he had asked her, but she would regret letting them.
