The Craziest Things Window Washers Have Seen
Window washers are some of the bravest people in the world; sometimes going up 70 stories to get the job done.
Being up so high, they get to see some amazing things, but sometimes, it’s the things inside the window that are most interesting… and unexpected. Below are some of the craziest stories from window washers around the world.
From CEOs doing illegal things to watching live surgeries, they’ve seen it all. Read our list of the craziest things seen by those courageous enough clean windows.
Staring at the CEO

I wash the windows in a 6-story building as part of my janitorial job and there were times when I either rappelled down from the roof or used ladders to clean them.
One day while cleaning the executive floor windows, I looked in and saw the CEO inhaling something in his office with the lights off. We made eye contact for a few seconds then I continued to do my job as if I had never seen him.
He tipped me $200 that day.
Flashers on The Following Floor

A friend and I started working for a window washing company when they guy showing us the ropes told us that we were in for a treat on the next floor down. It turns out that the ladies on the floor had a habit of giving the washers a show.
At the same time, my mother calls me when I hear a commotion in the background. She tells me about a tradition that the staff has that she “missed out on.” I later found out, through my new window washing friend, after we have dinner with my mom, that she’s a flasher.
The Leather Lady and the Barking Man

A colleague and I were called to do the interior windows in an apartment complex and one unit was just a bizarre wonderland.
The owner of the apartment was a woman and she was dressed in all leather while a guy in a full body suit followed her around on his hands and knees on a leash. He would bark at us as we worked.
The Glitter-filled Room

Back when I was seventeen, I took a safety training course on window washing because I worked part-time as one to get quick cash.
My partner and I were almost done when we get down to a glitter-filled room where we see a group of people dressed in animal costumes while rubbing and smacking each other around.
The room’s walls were spray painted and they gave us death stares as we went down. We informed the front desk and they kicked the guests out.
