Trash Painting Reunites Homeless Man With Family
Arthur’s heart broke as he listened to the pawnshop owner inform him that he had made a mistake by giving him $20 for the painting. That money was supposed to buy him lunch and dinner.
Arthur learned the painting’s actual value, and he was stunned. He had pawned it so recklessly. What happened next made Arthur’s eyes well up with tears.
Going Downhill
Arthur Anderson faced a lot of challenges in his life. He was 30 years old and lived under a bridge. Things were not always this way, however. He used to be married and lived in a beautiful house while holding down a great-paying job. Arthur’s life went downhill when his wife left him.
He tried his best to make the best of his situation.
Arthur’s new “work” will eventually make him end up with a painting. But he had no notion how the artwork would permanently affect his life.
Antique Collector
Arthur’s “work” as an “antique collector” kept him afloat. When he named himself such, he giggled to himself. He dug through other people’s rubbish in the hopes of discovering something that he could sell to a pawnshop.
However, the sarcastic moniker of the antique collector appealed to him. He just didn’t realize how appropriate that title would be until he discovered a particular piece in the garbage.
He Had To Keep Fighting
Arthur had days when he was uninspired. It was understandable as he had no relatives, few friends, and no place to call home. He was generally alone in the world, and when things were terrible, he had to fight to get his next plate of food.
To put it mildly, it had been a difficult life. But, for several reasons, Arthur’s world was about to change. And it all began on a typical Wednesday morning.
An Old Painting
Arthur got up early to begin his daily routine. He was traveling around outside, looking through everyone’s trash, hoping to sell something so he could purchase food. However, something jutting out of a trashcan drew his attention.
When he took it out, he realized it was a photograph of some sort. He identified Bambi, and it appeared to be rather old. Could it be valuable?
