27+ Unexpected Things That You’ll Only See in Thailand
In Thailand, you’ll discover some really weird and unusual things. The people there make this country special, because they keep the traditions and culture alive, but some of these traditions might seem downright odd to visitors.
We have some fascinating pictures to show you, giving a unique glimpse into the strange experiences that many visitors have had in Thailand.
Bike As a Bed
In Thailand, motorcycles and mopeds are very common. Lots of people ride them all the time. One tired man didn’t want to leave his motorcycle alone, so he decided to take a nap while still sitting on it. Unfortunately, he fell off a few minutes later, and lost his cool sleeping pose.
Luckily, the motorcycle wasn’t moving when he fell!
Odd Lunch Options
We hope Kate is okay, being stir-fried doesn’t sound good. We’re glad nobody ordered the fried Kate dish, so she can enjoy her own meal in peace. If we had to order it, we’d choose the one with chicken. Chicken goes well with everything, so maybe it goes with stir-fried Kate too.
Hopefully, it’s just a misunderstanding and not a menu for eating people in Bangkok.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
In the past, it wasn’t clear how to recycle old tires. In the popular series The Simpsons, the residents of Springfield throw them into a pile and burn them all, but Thailand has a better idea. They turn used tires into trash cans and put them on the sides of roads.
They even use old tires for the legs, stand, and handles of the trash cans. Very versatile!
Water Throwing Festival
Thailand’s police officers have a funny side. In Phuket, a water throwing festival happens each year. People throw water at each other and even at the police officers. The cops join in and use water pistols instead of their usual weapons.
It’s a cool way to beat the heat and have fun together as a community.
