The 25 Weirdest Museums in the United States

There are hundreds of odd places one can stop at while traveling through America. Seems like every city’s local culture includes some weird roadside artifacts. And the country has endless offerings for the curious traveler.

That is, if you know where to look. So are you looking for something weird to do? Because these are the weirdest American museums you’ll ever see…

If you were ever curious as to what one could possibly do with a 20+ year collection of specialized candy trinkets, the Burlingame Pez Museum is your answer.

Gary Doss has built quite the collection of PEZ dispensers — every single one ever made, in fact — and you can see all 900 of them in the same building as the Banned Toy and Classic Toy Museum.

Heading to the dentist is never really a fun experience, regardless of whether it’s once every six months or only when the cavity pain becomes too much to bear.

But the Historical Dental Museum is a better time than a root canal, especially if you’ve got a thing for buckets of teeth.

Owners James Healy and Cathee Shultz warn visitors that the Museum of Death is not for the faint of heart, and it certainly isn’t.

The small space in Los Angeles is filled with death memorabilia, including the world’s largest collection of serial killer artwork. If Rotten.com were a place, this would be it.

For the 18 and over crowd, New York’s Museum of Sex offers visitors a crash course in more than porn.

Sure, it’s got a full media library and tons of pornographic art work on display, but it’s also got tons of information on sex beyond humans, as well as a full bar.
