Whale Visits Same Boat Daily Until Captain Notice Something Is Wrong
Growing up in California, Mick Menigoz was the captain of a boat used to organize whale watching tours. It was early winter and Mick had run across a humpback whale in some troubling circumstances.
For his entire life, Mick had a great affinity for whales, he felt like he was obligated to help. How could he just leave it behind? He was all on his own and he was faced with one question: how could he help without risking his own life?
Whale Watching
Mick thought of himself as a lucky man: he had found a way to make a living out of his passion for whales. He would organize tours for people to see these huge sea mammals from closer.
His tours were really popular. People were amazed when they saw those humongous animals swimming around the boat. However, what he lived that one day would surpass everything he had seen before in his tours.
In Need Of Help
Mick couldn’t help feeling concerned when he first saw the whale. It looked like it was in a rough spot, like it was sick or had been injured. And Mick knew it would be dificult to help such a humongous animal.
Mick himself was going to need some help if he wanted to help the whale. He could count on his boat, named the Superfish, and on his own crew of divers. But that wouldn’t be enough. He would need some more.
Calling The Experts
So he went to the boat’s radio and tried to get in contact with the Marine Mammal Center. They were the first thing that came to his mind, and the only ones he could think of to tackle that problem.
Based in Sausalito, California, the Marine Mammal Center was a nonprofit organization specialized in that kind of situations. For longer than four decades, its staff had done a great job at helping and assisting whales around that area.
Would they be able to succeed in this occasion?
Not Their First Time
The Marine Mammal Center’s had one main purpose: to make sure hurt mammals would be taken care of and released back into the ocean safe and sound.
Since its foundation, it had saved more than 20,000 marine mammals, from seals and sea lions to whales.
So they were right who Mick needed in that moment. As he waited for their response, he prayed that everything would be alright and they would be able to handle the situation.
