When She Enters the Ceremony, She Soon Realizes She is at Her Own Funeral

When Melanie was invited to an outing with a friend, she didn’t expect to have one of the most harrowing experiences of her life. She saw her family and friends with expressions of sorrow on their faces, and instantly knew that something was horribly wrong.

But, it wasn’t until she saw her own photo in the funeral home that she realized what was really going on.

She Was Invited to a Get Together

Melanie had driven a few miles to get together with a good friend who she hadn’t spoken with in a while. The two were close, but hadn’t seen each other in person in about a year, so when Melanie got to her apartment, she was surprised that she didn’t recognize the place.

Where Am I?

Suddenly, she was ushered into a small, hushed room by the friend she had come to meet. But, why had Melanie been invited to a funeral, and why hadn’t her friend told her about it ahead of time?

Melanie couldn’t help but think, “Surely, I would have worn something different if I had known I was coming to a funeral!”

She Saw Her Family Members in the Crowd

Once Melanie was seated, she started to notice details in the room around her. For instance, she recognized several people in attendance. In fact, they were her own family! Seeing them so sad made Melanie feel like she had intruded on something.

Little did she know that she was the reason for their sadness.

She Heard Someone Say Her Name

Melanie still didn’t know whose funeral she was attending. That is, until she saw the details around the room, which included her own last name on a program held in the hands of someone a few seats down from her.

Maybe she had been taken to the funeral of one of her distant cousins or a family member she had never met?
