A Trip To Hawaii

For as long as she could remember, Veronica Stiles played by the rules. When an argument broke out she was the one who sat silently. When there was trouble, she walked away. So when her husband, Richard, was told he had months left to live, she knew she had to make every second count.

Making Plans

The two decided to book a couple’s trip to scuba dive in Hawaii. Despite the limited time, the couple was about to start a brand new chapter in their lives. But a month before the trip, and unfortunately for Richard, his chapter came to an end.

But he still had another surprise up his sleeve for his grieving wife.

Fate

Once Richard’s funeral was over, Veronica went home to an empty house. Silence lingered in the air as she sat at her dining table and looked at a picture from their wedding day. She wiped a tear from her eye and turned on her TV to break the silence in the room.

A Hawaii advertisement promoting the holiday destination suddenly flashed on her television screen. “It must be a sign,” Veronica whispered to herself.
