Ann Kear was now in her eighties, and she has spent most of her life learning about the mystery surrounding Karl’s grave.

She had tried to also learn more about her brother’s past, but only after 70 years she was able to finally solve the mystery…

A Tragic Loss

The tragedy started when Ann was only seven years old. That’s when she learned that her older brother had died. She still remembers it all in detail. Her teenage brother was on a scouting trip in 1947, a trip from which he wouldn’t come back.

Going For a Swim

Karl and some of the boys in the scouting team stopped by the lake for a swim. It all happened at Oxwich Bay near Swansea. The water was murky and her brother somehow wasn’t able to save himself.

Everyone Was Shocked

The whole family had been shocked to its core. Ann was only seven, and even though she doesn’t remember much about Karl’s life after so many decades, she does recall how much she and her parents were affected by his death.

Just like that, Ann no longer had a brother.
