31 Years After Her Son Vanished, Someone Tells Mom To Go To A KFC In Connecticut

Two-year-old Jermaine Allan Mann vanished without a trace in June 1987 in Toronto, Canada. His mother, Lyneth, would wonder about what became of him for 30 years. Connecticut police discovered a secret identity in 2018 and finally unlocked this mystery.

Jermaine was born in 1985 and it wasn’t long after this that his parents, Jamaican-Canadian Lyneth and his father Allan, separated. Even so, Lyneth recalls Jermain being an energetic and happy boy. He loved grapes, had big brown eyes and would eagerly dance when the radio played.

Even after his parents split up, Jermaine continued to see his dad regularly during scheduled visits. Allan was in Toronto on June 24, 1987, for one of these visits. According to the arrangements they made, Allan would bring Jermaine back to a dollar store on Islington Avenue.

When the agreed-upon time came, however, neither Jermaine nor Allan showed up. Lyneth, understandably panicked and worried, called the police and immediately reported Jermaine as missing.

The police launched a search for the boy but Lyneth, in her late twenties at the time, would find no sign of her only child.

Keep Trying

Many different groups and agencies would keep trying to solve the mystery of Jermaine’s disappearance but to no avail. Even the Missing Children Society of Canada (MCSC) was able to find any real leads. Time passed and Lyneth had to accept that all she could do was hope she’d see Jermaine again.
