Woman Holds Door Open For Grandma Only To Later Hear Unsettling Remark From Her

It was the polite thing to do. The elderly woman moved slowly but waited patiently as she held the door open. She was surprised to see her again in the restaurant but was even more astonished by what she said as she walked past.

It wasn’t something she had been prepared to hear, but she knew there was no way she would let it slide.

A Good Day

Brook Ochoa was a Texas resident enjoying the lovely weather that week. Life seemed to be good to her then, which she was grateful for because she’d been having a rough time recently after experiencing a bad breakup. It was the first time she felt good about herself in a while.

However, the day ahead had something unexpected in store for her.

Running Errands

Brook woke up early that morning so that she could avoid the queue at the bank. Afterward, she made a quick drive to the grocery store. She hummed as she went through her grocery list, and by the time she was done shopping, she realized she was famished.

She had been strict with herself the entire week regarding her diet and thought it wouldn’t hurt to treat herself. As she headed to find something to eat, she had no clue what would come.

Brook’s parents had taught her always to respect her elders, so she felt compelled to hold the door open for the old lady she noticed as she walked up to the restaurant.

Brook was someone who spread kindness whenever she got the chance and was happy to wait for the old woman. But the woman seemed to be confused.

The old woman seemed to be wary and confused but that didn’t stop Brook from smiling at her. “Please,” she said, gesturing for the woman to walk in ahead of her.

The woman thanked her with a smile before slowly making her way through the open door. Brook stepped in and let the door shut behind her, thinking about how she would never see the woman again. But fate had other plans.
