Ruth Reed was a not-so-ordinary woman from Medford, New Jersey. Ruth had retired and although she missed teaching, she loved living a relatively quiet lifestyle with her husband.

Ruth poured herself an early morning cup of coffee and sat down with the newspaper. She enjoyed how quiet the rest of the world was this early in the morning. She figured it was just another ordinary week, but it would turn out to be the opposite.

Ruth and her husband were perfect for one another. They never fought and although they never had children, they never felt like anything was missing from their live, because they had each other.

It was 6 pm when Ruth made her way to the Wawa convenience store. She had been coming to the store for years, she knew it well and she knew most of the customers that shopped there.
