He Won’t Stop Staring At Her, Regrets It When She ‘Accidentally’ Swaps Drinks With Him
She blinked in surprise when the man reached over and took another long sip from her drink. This wasn’t the first time he’d taken the wrong glass during the course of the evening. He seemed like a nice enough guy. Maybe she was being paranoid.
Her eyes swept through the club, searching for her friends. Then, a sly movement in the corner of her eye raised all the red flags.
A Reason To Celebrate
Lily Powles, from Lincolnshire in the U.K., was working the first evening shift at Gulliver’s Nite Club when she noticed a familiar face sauntering in. She glanced at her watch. Twenty more minutes and her friends would be arriving, she thought.
Twenty more minutes and her job at the club would officially be over. And she had reason to celebrate.
The Last Shift
Working as a server and taking the late shifts wasn’t easy, but Lily desperately needed the money. But finally, after countless interviews, she had been offered a position as a sales representative at a large insurance firm.
With her new job officially starting on Monday, nothing could get her down tonight. Then, he walked in.
Making A Beeline
With a wide smile, the handsome man pushed his way to the front of the bar — making a beeline toward Lily. He asked for his usual drink — a rum and Coke.
Lily was taken aback when the man, who seemed especially bold tonight, skipped the routine chit-chat and came right out and asked her for her phone number.
Politely Declining
Lily was in a good mood, so she gently fobbed him off. She was used to men in the club approaching her, but she had one golden rule that she lived by: she would never mix romance and work. Besides, work policy strictly forbade it.
But she could never have guessed just how persistent this man would be.
