91-year-old Ruth Hana didn’t have a childhood that most would imagine. Ruth Hana had a different childhood to how most people would assume the 91-year-old woman had.

She had a difficult and lonely childhood. But she knew that she wouldn’t be the strong woman she was without it. It gave her the determination to do what she was doing now.

Locally Known

She had done this many times before, she conisdered herself a “veteran”.

Just a few years ago Ruth could be found rummaging through dumpstars. Ruth didn’t care who saw her or what they thought of her actions. But a new problem would be on the horizon.

“Too Old”

Even though she didn’t care about the prying eyes on her, it was rather the words that came after that she didn’t like.

She felt her stomach twist into a knot when they said, “You’re too old to be doing anything like this.” But what did they want her to do? Just wait aroudn for th grim reaper to come?
