The song “Greased Lightnin’” sung by John Travolta went: "This car could be automatic, systematic, hydromatic / Why, it could be Greased Lightnin’!” It referred to the used car that Kenickie, a member of the greaser gang, had bought to fix up.

The lyrics went: "Summer dreams ripped at the seams.” It was part of the song “Summer Nights” sung by John Travolta and Olivia Newton John and it is by far one of the most iconic songs in the movie.
In “Summer Nights,” Danny explained to his friends what happened when the summer nights got colder. “It turned colder, that's where it ends. So I told her we'd still be friends.”
The lyrics went "Summer loving had me a blast / Summer loving happened so fast.” The name of the song is called "Summer Nights" and it was written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey.

Danny clearly couldn’t take no for an answer. So after finding out that Sandy had been with someone else, Danny sang the lyrics: "Love has flown all alone/ I sit and wonder why, oh why you left me/ Oh Sandy…”
Danny sang the lyrics: "When high school is done / Somehow, someway / Our two worlds will be one.” What he was trying to say was that even though he and Sandy were so different, he hoped that they would eventually be able to set those differences aside so they could be together.

In the song, summer days were drifting away to summer nights. The lyrics also went like this: “She swam by me. She got a cramp. He ran by me, got my suit damp. I saved her life, she nearly drowned. He showed off, splashing around.”
In the song “Sandy,” Danny sang: “What will they say Monday at school? Sandy, can't you see I'm in misery? We made a start, now we're apart. There's nothing left for me.”
The song went on to say: “Missed your mid-terms and flunked shampoo. Well at least you could have taken time. To wash and clean your clothes up.”
The song “We Go Together” was sung by the T-Birds and the Pink Ladies. It was also the closing track to the 1978 film. The lyrics also said: “We're one of a kind. Like dip da dip da dip do wop di dooby do.”
The line is from the “Grease” song “Born to Hand Jive.” The lyrics went on to say: While chopping wood I move my legs, and I started the dance while I gathered eggs. Bowed and clapped, I was only five. And I danced 'em all, he's born to hand-jive.”
The song was sung by actress Stockard Channing who played the rebellious Rizzo. The lyrics went: “I could flirt with all the guys. Smile at them and bat my eyes. Press against them when we dance.”
Rizzo went on to sing in her solo: “Out of spite or jealousy. I don't steal and I don't lie.”
