As the NBA draft draws near, basketball fans’ eyes gloss over with the excitement of who could fall to their favorite team, and what those lumps of talent could become when compressed with NBA development.

Here are the 30 best prospects in the draft, along with, for the most part, EXTREMELY OPTIMISTIC player comparisons illustrating what they could potentially become.

It’s possible and maybe even likely that none of these incoming pros will ever reach the heights of their comps, so don’t come crying when your team’s pick in the 20s does’t turn into a multiple-time All-Star.

Like his bearded predecessor, Fultz has elite size for a lead guard and can do it all on offense. Also like Harden, he has all the tools to be a good defender, but has yet shown much of an interest in being one.

Both are blessed with great size at point guard and an uncanny ability to put others in position to score.

Ball’s jumper isn’t pretty, but so far it’s worked for him—still, like Kidd, he’ll have to prove himself from deep to unlock his potential.
