Anyone familiar with the game of Glen “Big Baby” Davis knows that one of his signature features — right behind his wide-ass behind and his propensity to bawl like a baby when confronted with an angry Kevin Garnett — is his nearly unmatched sweat production.

But one thing Davis isn’t sweating: his reported recent arrest for possession of marijuana and intent to distribute.

On February 7, a hotel owner in Aberdeen, Maryland, smelled sticky-icky coming from one of the rooms. When the owner knocked, he was told to “f**k off,” according to WMAR Baltimore.

Aberdeen police showed up soon after, and the former NBA big man, who came off the bench for the Boston Celtics’ 2008 championship squad, gave signed consent for the officers to search the room.

“They recovered 126 grams of marijuana,” said Lt. William Reiber of the Aberdeen Police Department. “In addition to that there was a brief case that contained $92,164 of U.S. currency along with a ledger that contained language which is consistent with someone involved in the sale and distribution of narcotics.”

Big Baby was being about as subtle about his apparent new venture as a 6’9″, 300-pound former NBA player walking stoned through a china shop. From WMAR:

The ledger was of names of people of who owed money along with baggies for individual packaging of a quarter pound of marijuana.

The strains were called “Sour D” and “Berry,” all from a Los Angeles wholesaler court records show Davis told police he was in business with.

He was indicted weeks later.

Not long after his foibles became public, Mr. Baby issued a response from the comfort of a jet, a tableful of Popeyes chicken, and a seatful of cash, thousands of miles in the air.

“It’s your boy Big Baby man,” he said, waving a drumstick and apparently resigned to the nickname he hated during his playing days. “Don’t believe all that sh*t on the internet. I will have my day in court. They’re just mad because a black man’s got money, man, trying to keep a black man down. … My sh*t’s legal, man. A lot of jump shots. A whole lot of jump shots.”

Davis then instructed the camera operator, with his eyes, to zoom in on his championship ring sitting atop the pile of cash.
