Bill Belichick Gets Grumpy with Reporters When Asked About Rob Gronkowski

Bill Belichick forgot to drink his Folgers this morning.

No team is more ambiguous with the injury report than the New England Patriots, who will often list Tom Brady as questionable just for the hell of it. That’s why it was surprising to see the Pats release a statement on Gronk’s injured knee—something they’ve never done before.

Gronk is listed as week-to-week, which is a nice way of saying, “We’re not going to let you know about his health until about two minutes before kickoff.”

That’s practically what the statement said: “There is no timetable for his readiness to return, which will be determined in the days or hours prior to the appropriate game. Any timetable reported prior to that final determination would be speculative.”

Belichick was asked about the statement during his Wednesday morning press conference, and he offered a grumpy response in typical Belichick fashion.

Was he trying to hold back a smile? We all know Bill secretly loves shaming reporters (it’s not really much of a secret).

The statement was released in conjunction with the Gronkowski family, which makes this whole thing truly bizarre. I don’t know if there’s ever been a time an NFL family released a statement over a bruised knee.

There’s gotta be a catch. Belichick is planning something; you just know it. Maybe Gronk will make a grand entrance on Sunday, parachuting into the stadium and throwing all the Eagles players off their game.

Yeah that’s probably definitely going to happen.
