The Boston Celtics have landed the second-most coveted free agent of the 2016 offseason.

After meeting with four teams on Friday, including the Oklahoma City Thunder and his incumbent team the Atlanta Hawks, free agent Al Horford narrowed down his list to just two teams, the Washington Wizards and the Celtics as both squads were willing to offer max deals.

But a last-minute effort from the Hawks to clear up cap space left some doubt for the Wiz and C's.

That changed within minutes.

And just like that, Boston has secured one of the best big men in the league, one who can actually shoot the basketball (Boston was 28th in three-point percentage in 2015-16).

But more importantly, the chances of Kevin Durant signing with the Celtics just went up significantly.

Moments before the Horford news broke, Boston arrived in the Hamptons for their free agency meeting with KD. They brought a secret weapon along.

Durant will meet with Miami tomorrow and he’s expected to make a decision on Monday.
