Early in the second quarter of the Super Bowl, a New England Patriots trick play failed, as a Danny Amendola pass fell just out of the reach of quarterback Tom Brady.

We’d see the play run again—just not by the Patriots.

In the final minute of the opening half, the Philadelphia Eagles pulled the trick play out in the red zone, and unlike the Patriots’ attempt, the Birds’ worked out swimmingly.

And it came in a huge moment: fourth-and-goal while up by only three.

Hell of a time for the first catch of quarterback Nick Foles’ career. Tight end Trey Burton, recruited out of high school as a quarterback, threw the pass.

The Eagles were in a position to score thanks to Corey Clement, who hauled in a Foles pass and sped 55 yards down the field, utilizing a beastly stiff-arm.

As Justin Timberlake takes the field for the halftime show, the Eagles lead 22-12.
