Ezekiel Elliott is still under investigation by the NFL.
Now it appears the 22-year-old also under investigation by the Dallas Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to Clutch Bar in Dallas at around 9:40 p.m. on Sunday to respond to an incident that left a man’s nose broken.
The individual was reportedly too intoxicated to identify the aggressor. According to TMZ, the man’s friend told the police “It was that Dallas Cowboys running back.”
Elliott, who led the NFL in rushing as a rookie in 2016, was no longer at the establishment by the time police arrived. No arrests have been made, but the investigation is ongoing.
Witnesses told TMZ that Elliott stepped in after the victim and a female in the Cowboys star’s party got into a verbal altercation.
Here’s video footage of the 30-year-old victim after the incident. He was taken to the hospital with injuries that weren’t life-threatening.
The NFL is still investigating Elliott for alleged domestic abuse committed in July 2016 for which no charges were filed. In March, the star running back drew yet more unwanted attention to himself when he was filmed pulling a woman’s top down at a St. Patrick’s Day parade.
The NFL is looking into the incident from Sunday night, telling TMZ they’re still trying to “understand the facts.”
