For two decades, Canada dominated women’s hockey at the Winter Olympics.

But after four consecutive gold-medal campaigns, Team USA, led by a set of twins, ended their reign and claimed American victory in Olympic women’s hockey for the first time since taking gold in the event’s debut at the Nagano games in 1998.

With 6:21 remaining in the third period, Monique Lamoureux-Morando tied the gold medal matchup between North American rivals at 2-2, where the score would remain through overtime and into a shootout.

In the sixth exchange of shootout attempts, twin sister Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson did goalie Shannon Szabados so, so dirty to put Canada at risk.

Yeah, that’s a saucy-ass goal.

So saucy, in fact, that the move has a Britney Spears-inspired name.

Team USA goalie Maddie Rooney would seal the victory …

… and earn the blessings of some internet prankster or pranksters.

Things would only get worse for Canadians from there.

You can find them curled up at the bottom of a bottle of maple syrup.
