They have a grand total of 31 NBA games between them, but there’s already a budding rivalry between Joel Embiid and Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball—er, at least there’s one developing between Embiid and Ball’s shameless showman of a father, LaVar Ball.

Just one drop of the never-ending bullshit spewing from LaVar’s mouth, the NBA dad called his son’s new squad a playoff team during the NBA draft back on June 22.

Embiid and his Philadelphia 76ers teammate disagreed.

Predictably, LaVar came over the top with his response.

“When you don’t win and don’t even make the playoffs, and don’t even stay on the court long enough, that’s the best thing you can do is tweet, make some stuff,” Ball said about a week later on 97.5 ESPN. “Ain’t nobody else doing that, because they’re working on their game in the gym. These guys ain’t played a game, always hurt, and at the bottom of the totem pole. So guess what, get your asses off the goddamn tweeter, and get in the gym.”

Embiid replied on Instagram about a week after that with three words that have been chanted by a swath of NBA fans since Lonzo’s dad started proclaiming the UCLA alum would be better than Stephen Curry and Jason Kidd: “F**k LaVar Ball.”

That’s when the NBA intervened, fining the exciting young center $10,000 for “using inappropriate language on social media.”

Please don’t become the NFL, NBA. Please.
