J.R. Smith and LeBron James did everything they could to bring Cleveland a second championship in 2016.

After their Cleveland Cavaliers ended the city's 52-year championship drought against the Golden State Warriors in the summer, J.R., LeBron, and several teammates attended multiple World Series games to cheer on the Cleveland Indians against the Chicago Cubs.

Here's James all amped up next to Richard Jefferson and Kevin Love after Rajai Davis' game-tying three-run homer in Game 7.

J.R. contributed to the effort by reacting how he does to most situations, including winning an NBA championship: taking his shirt off.

Sadly, it was all for naught, as the Cubs went ahead and broke their own 108-year curse anyway, meaning LeBron lost a best to Chicago native and former teammate Dwyane Wade.

After the loss, LeBron took to Twitter to console the Indians: "Use this as inspiration. Get ready for next year."

That's easy for James to say, he's 2-0 in Game 7s of the NBA Finals.
