Saturday night was no different, though the stakes weren’t nearly as high—Brady was bestowed the NFL’s Most Valuable Player award, but because he’s a little busy preparing for the eighth Super Bowl in his career, he turned to Edelman, who tore his ACL in the preseason and hasn’t played since, to receive the award in the quarterback’s stead.
Edelman’s brief speech at the NFL Honors ceremoney included a white lie.
Julian Edelman just accepted the 2017 MVP Award from Kevin Hart on behalf of Tom Brady and said Brady — amongst asking him to thank friends, family, the Patriots and teammates — told him to say “LFG.” Edelman than deadpanned “I don’t know what that means but he said LFG” Edelman knows. It stands for “Let’s F*cking Go”

“He said one thing for me to say, he said, ‘LFG,'” Edelman said at the podium. “I don’t what it means, but he said, ‘LFG.'”
The phrase’s true meaning can’t be typed out in front of kiddos, but let’s just say, for the acronym disinclined, that it rhymes with “Rhett’s chucking snow.”
