Thirty minutes into his second NFL game, the explosive debut of Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt seemed but a distant memory.

Then the second half of the Chiefs’ game against the Philadelphia Eagles happened.

Hunt rushed for just eight yards in the first half as the Chiefs clung to a 6-3 lead.

Then Hunt blew up, and the Chiefs offense followed.

On their second possession of the second half, Hunt exploded through the middle and to the outside for a 53-yard touchdown run.

On their final possession, Hunt punched in a two-yard score to go up 27-13, where the score would remain.

“I’m a guy who likes to finish off runs,” he said after the victory.

He finished that particular run with perhaps the season’s first memorable touchdown celebration.

Hunt ended the day with 81 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries, adding three catches for another 28 yards.

“Honestly everybody wanted to put points on the board,” Hunt said of the offense’s turnaround. “You know our offense started slow. We came [into the locker room] and we had to fix some things. Everybody took pride in what they did and we just played hard. “
