Lakers ‘Isolating’ D’Angelo Russell After Video Shows Nick Young Say He Cheated on Iggy Azalea

The Los Angeles Lakers aren't winning anything but a handful of games this season.

For that reason, a "successful" 2015-16 would mean keeping their top three protected draft pick and cultivating the stardom of No. 2 overall selection D'Angelo Russell.

And there's a good chance the team will fail to do either. With the league's second-worst record all but locked down with eight games to go, there's a 44.2 percent chance the team won't earn a top three pick in the draft lottery, in which case their pick conveys to the Philadelphia 76ers.

As for Russell, things aren't looking that bright either, as ESPN reports the Lakers are currently "isolating" Russell after the surfacing of a video the point guard recorded that appears to show teammate Nick Young admitting he cheated on his rapper fiancée Iggy Azalea. Though, particularly with celebrity couples, it's important to note that we don't know the nature of their relationship and whether or not Young's actions are acceptable to Azalea.

The video shows Russell and Young talking in a hotel room, with the rookie asking about a woman the 30-year-old met at a nightclub.

"You was 30 and she was 19?" he asks.

Russell also asks Young about model Amber Rose.

"No, she knows my girl," Young responded.

The video ends with Russell saying, "I'm glad you told my video all that."

Young responds, "Huh?" before it ends.

Here's the leaked video.

"It's bad," one team source said. "It's about as bad as it can get. There were trust issues already. Now there's no trust."

"Right now, they're handling it by isolating him," said another source.

According to ESPN's report, they're handling it much like a group of middle schoolers would.

At a recent breakfast meeting, one source said, no Laker would sit with Russell at his table. The source added that, in another instance, Russell came into the locker room and sat next to guard Lou Williams, who got up and walked away.

Young and Azalea got engaged last summer.

The rapper has responded with a cryptic tweet.

Another "team insider" seems to think the issue isn't as big as it's being made out to be.

"This was a prank gone wrong and a mistake by [Russell], and he has to be held accountable, but I would hope he isn't overly criticized for it," the source said.
