It took less than a day for the Los Angeles Lakers’ attempts to shush LaVar Ball to prove utterly ineffective.
During a whirlwind media tour on Tuesday, the father of Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball and younger brothers LiAngelo and LaMelo said that his eldest is “disgusted” with the historic franchise’s losing ways. He also complained about head coach Luke Walton’s decision to bench Lonzo in the final period of the Lakers’ most recent loss to the Houston Rockets.
“He’s disgusted, he’s not used to losing like this. The #Lakers should build around Lonzo. Why are they sitting him down and not starting him the 4th quarter? This is why the record is raggedy.” –@bigballerbrand CEO @Lavarbigballer on @ZO2_ pic.twitter.com/Krs6SALnhc

In that loss, Lonzo shot 0-of-4 for two points in 22 minutes of action, adding a rebound and as many turnovers as assists (three). The team was down by 22 when Walton subbed Lonzo out for good with over four minutes left to play in the third quarter. The squads played about evenly from that point on, as Houston won by 23, 118-95.
LaVar also has plans for the future of the Lakers’ roster: All three of his sons will apparently play for them at the same time.
“The grand plan stays the same. All these boys are going to be on the Lakers,” LaVar said. “Watch how I do this. People are going to look up and say, ‘Wow. How did they all get on the Lakers?'”
That truly would be quite the feat, considering that at this time NBA GMs have given exactly zero thought to drafting middle son LiAngelo.
