As the head coach of his son LaMelo Ball‘s AAU basketball team, LaVar Ball, father of Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball, imparts basketball and life lessons to LaMelo and his teammates.

Lessons on the syllabus this past weekend?: If you don’t get your way, complain about it and quit; and make sure to put your desires over those of the people you’re supposed to be working with.

After his Big Ballers squad was whistled for a foul at the Double Pump Best of Summer Tournament in California on Saturday, LaVar questioned the referee’s manhood and used profanity. The flip-flopped Mr. Potato Head impersonator was hit with a technical foul, at which point he signaled to his team to vacate the bench.

The Big Ballers forfeited, despite leading 69-60 at the time.

“Not gonna have my guys playing hard and they cheating. I don’t play that,” Ball said outside the gym.

A true role model for those kids, who probably didn’t want to play basketball or win that day anyway.
