Magic Johnson Publicly Ridicules LaVar Ball

Don’t bother asking LaVar Ball how he’d perform in charge of an NBA team.

His response would probably go something like this: “Red Auerbach’s got nothing on me. I’d trade my used Q-tip for Kevin Durant then trade him to the JBA for my son LiAngelo. Something dumb, something dumb, never lost.”

Plus lots of squinting. And jorts.

Anyway, I bring this up because Ball will probably criticize Lakers president Magic Johnson soon, and because pretending he’d do a better job than his subject is apparently Ball’s favorite thing.

Why will he go after Magic?

Other than the fact that Ball seemingly can’t help himself from going after whoever comes to mind when in front of a microphone, Magic roasted his young point guard’s dad on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” last week.

Just watch how he reacts at the mere mention of Ball’s name.

Kimmel asked the Lakers legend whether he’d consulted the Ball patriarch before bringing LeBron James to LA.

“I would’ve called you first before I called LaVar Ball,” Magic cracked.

Which is saying something, considering Kimmel can’t even win a game of one-on-one against a guy not coordinated enough to keep from tweeting out his favorite porn.

Magic’s ribbing is not quite “destroying” Ball or threatening to trade his son, but it’s a start.
