The Jaguars Talked So Much Trash After Beating The Steelers Again

Even as their league-breaking defense ran roughshod over the NFL en route to a 10-6 record and an AFC South title, opponents continued to doubt the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Even the Pittsburgh Steelers, who got their brains stomped 30-9 by the Jags in Week 5, refused to view Jacksonville as a threat headed into the teams’ divisional-round meeting.

Running back Le’Veon Bell essentially called their matchup with Jacksonville a bye.

And safety Mike Mitchell predicted a win … over the New England Patriots in the following round.

“We can play [the Patriots] in hell, we can play them in Haiti, we can play them in New England. … We’re going to win,” Mitchell said.

Except … nah.

Once again, the Steelers got beat by the Jags at home, though at least they got a little closer this time around. Progress, guys!

So you’ll have to forgive Jacksonville, and particularly Malik Jackson, for reveling in their 45-42 victory in the form of some seriously deserved trash talk.

As for Mitchell, he at least had the presence of mind to trash-talk the Jags instead of the Patriots immediately before the contest.

But the message was not received.
