Louisiana Tech women’s basketball coach Tyler Summitt has resigned amid rumors the young coach impregnated one of his players.
The 25-year-old, known for being the son of eight-time national title-winning coach Pat Summitt, admitted on Thursday to having an affair and released a statement in conjunction with the university.
Per Tyler Summitt's release:

According to SB Nation’s Swish Appeal, the woman Summitt was involved with is pregnant.
“Multiple sources close to the situation have informed Swish Appeal the person Tyler Summitt had an inappropriate relationship with is a player and that she is pregnant. We have decided to not release the player's name.”
Summit is currently married to his high school sweetheart Anne Dennis. They tied the knot nearly three years ago, just prior to when Summitt accepted the head coaching gig at Louisiana Tech.
Tyler spent his college years playing ball at Tennessee, while assisting his mother with the women’s team. Many will recognize him as the little kid cutting down the net after Pat Summit’s 1996 national championship victory.
Man, growing up really sucks. Doesn’t the little innocent kid in the white hat make this story so much more heartbreaking? Just look at him!
What a difference 20 years can make.
Summitt has gone 30-31 in two seasons at Louisiana Tech, far short of his mother’s successful start at Tennessee.
