After former New York Jets defensive end IK Enemkpali was released for punching his teammate Geno Smith in the jaw on Tuesday, many thought he wouldn’t take another snap in the NFL. But head coach Rex Ryan will find any way to piss off his former team.

The Buffalo Bills have reportedly claimed Enemkpali, according to Ian Rapoport.

Enemkpali punched Geno over a $600 plane ticket and quickly found himself on the free agent list. The Internet had a lot of fun with the incident, but Rex Ryan claiming Enemkpali really does put a cherry on top of this hysterical story.

Ryan coached Enemkpali during his rookie season in 2014, but the 24-year-old isn’t exactly the most sought after defensive player in football. The former sixth-rounder had an outside shot at making the Jets roster this season, so obviously Ryan made the move to send a message to the Jets.

Oh Rex, thank you for keeping us entertained!
