Boston sports radio’s relentless competition to reach new lows drew the ire of perhaps the area’s favorite son in the middle of his preparation for an attempt at a sixth Super Bowl ring: Tom Brady.

WEEI’s Alex Reimer called the New England Patriots quarterback’s five-year-old daughter with wife Gisele Bundchen an “annoying little pissant” during a discussion of the first episode of the documentary web series “Tom vs Time” on Thursday’s episode of “Mut at Night.”

During his weekly appearance on the station’s “Kirk & Callahan” show on Monday morning, Brady took one question before cutting the interview short because of Reimer’s comments.

“Well, I think that—I’ve tried to come on this show for many years and have showed you guys a lot of respect,” Brady said. “I’ve always tried to come on and do a good job for you guys, so it’s very disappointing when you hear that, certainly. But my daughter or any child, they certainly don’t deserve that.”

“Kirk & Callahan” co-host Kirk Minihane apologized to Brady, and said that he understood Brady’s feelings on the matter.

“I’ll obviously evaluate whether I want to come on this show again,” Brady responded, “so I really don’t have much to say this morning. So, maybe I’ll speak with you guys some other time.” Then he hung up.

On Friday, Reimer was suspended indefinitely for name-calling a child.
