On Friday, Kevin Durant vs. Stephen A. Smith became the beef du jour when the All-Star described a report in which the screaming head stated Durant would sign with the Los Angeles Lakers if he were to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder.
On Monday's First Take, Smith said he was glad to have the weekend to consider his very mature and thoughtfully worded response … which somehow didn't involve actually reaching out to the 2013-14 MVP.
Instead, Smith ranted a response that spanned (no joke) 10 minutes and somehow involved, "He's wonderful. There's nothing negative I have to say about this person as a human being," and "I consider him one of the best professional athletes as a person I have ever met in my life," but also an extremely thinly veiled threat or two:
If you're a masochist, here's the entire insufferable 10-minute clip.
Naturally, Twitter had a field day.

When KD heard Stephen A. Smith say "You don't want to make an enemy out of me. I am looking right at the camera." pic.twitter.com/8cLE5txr4q

I bet Kevin Durant couldn't care less if Stephen A is his enemy or not.

If @stephenasmith was as high and mighty as he claims, this issue would have been addressed in a phone call with Kevin Durant.

Is anyone else tired of Stephen A. Smith trying so hard to stay relevant? It's becoming mostly embarrassing.

Laugh at Stephen A. Smith now but when he viciously rejects Kevin Durant at the buzzer of Game 7 of the NBA Finals you won't laugh
