Zach LaVine Wins Dunk Contest, But Did Aaron Gordon Get Robbed?

Many thought Orlando Magic small forward Aaron Gordon and his mascot should have walked away champs in the Verizon Slam Dunk Contest. But it was Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Zach LaVine who defended his title from last year.

With Gordon going up against LaVine in the championship round, both players put up three straight 50s before the T-Wolves guard finally won 50-47 on the fourth try. However, Gordon arguably put up much more impressive 50s than LaVine did on his first couple of tries, using his mascot and a hoverboard.

But this is the dunk that should have ended the competition:

Was this dunk, although very impressive, really better than the two dunks above?

Great dunk, but a few inches in front of the free throw line. How about this one?

Still amazing, but the whole “through-the-legs” thing is a bit outdated at this point. I still think Gordon was better.

Regardless of my opinion, LaVine defends his slam dunk title, one night after winning the MVP Award in the Rising Stars Challenge. At 20 years old, this dude has accomplished a lot.
