“The Rapper” by The Jaggerz is a song that many people listen to today. There is this belief that the band’s name was a play on Mick Jagger’s name, however, that turned out to not be the case. The band was formed in Pennsylvania and released their song The Rapper in 1970, topping out all of the carts. Their name was a slang word for a type of thorny bush, and the song had a boogie and groovy feel to it.
