Gary was not home. In her excitement, Laura hadn’t noticed that his car wasn’t even in the driveway. That’s when she saw it.
A note. She grabbed it and started reading. As soon as she read the first sentence she felt her heart shatter instantly. The first sentence said “Dear wife: I’m writing you this letter to tell you that I’m leaving you forever”. Laura felt every bit of joy she had just felt turn to ice in her veins. When she continued reading it would turn to fire with rage with what he said next.
