In both the animated and live action Disney movies Belle volunteers to trade places with her bumbling but lovable father who has gotten himself locked up in the Beast’s dungeon. Belle and the Beast become friends, despite him being pretty standoffish at first. After the Beast gets stabbed by the local toxic masculinity poster boy, Belle realizes that he is her bae which turns him into a handsome prince and they live happily ever after.
