Beauty And The Beast
In the French fairytale Belle’s father trades her to the Beast in exchange for a rose and then the Beast spends a lot of time being very pushy about wanting to marry her even though she’s obviously not into it. When Belle gets homesick and returns to her family the Beast completely lets himself go because his heart is so broken and he just doesn’t want to live. This nonsense behavior eventually guilt trips Belle into returning and telling him she loves him so he doesn’t kill himself. Her “love” breaks his beasty spell and he turns into a prince and they live happily ever blah blah blah. Ugh.
